AutocutBeta
Remove pauses, filler words and retakes automatically
Autocut finds the parts of a recording nobody needs to hear: long pauses, ums and uhs, stutters, repeated takes and coughs. An AI reads the transcript like an editor and decides what goes, and every cut lands on a clean point in the audio.
How it works
- 1
Add your recording
Open the video in your browser. Only the audio track goes out for the transcript, the video file stays on your computer.
- 2
Autocut reads it like an editor
The AI review finds reworded retakes, abandoned sentences and asides, and keeps the pauses and ums you meant to keep.
- 3
Review and export
Every cut shows up in the timeline. Bring any of it back, then render an MP4 or export the cut to DaVinci Resolve.
What it does
- Pauses that breathe
- Long silences go, but sentence ends keep a natural beat, so the edit sounds like a person talking, not a machine.
- Retakes, even reworded
- When you say a sentence twice, Autocut keeps the last good take, even if the words changed.
- Clean cut points
- Cuts follow where speech really starts and stops in the audio, not just the transcript's timestamps.
Lumi runs this tool for you when it edits your whole video.
Questions
What does Autocut remove?
Long pauses, filler words like um and uh, stutters, repeated takes, abandoned sentences and noises such as coughs. You choose what it looks for, and you see every cut in the timeline before you export anything.
Will it cut the pauses I want to keep?
No. The AI review reads the context and leaves deliberate pauses and ums alone, for example a dramatic beat before a punchline. You can also tell it what to keep, and you can restore any single cut with one click.
Can I use Autocut without the AI?
Yes. The built-in rules cut pauses, filler words and stutters on your computer for free. The AI review is an optional step on top that costs credits and also catches reworded retakes and asides.
Does it work with DaVinci Resolve?
Yes. Export the cut timeline as a project file for DaVinci Resolve, plus subtitles as SRT, and keep editing there. Export to Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro is in beta. You can also render the finished video as MP4 in the browser.
